Decorated Graves

Barbara and her girls decorated Clayton and Richard’s graves.  I like the purple.

Staged Photo

This picture was in Betty Blevins Cody's cedar chest.  Her grandson scanned all the pictures in the cedar chest and shared them with me.  I would date this photo before 1910 as one of the ladies died in 1913.  A photographer traveled around with props and offered to take a picture for a price.  The dolls the ladies are holding and other things in the pictures might be what he carried.  Four of the women are daughters of John Cody 1845-1908 and Sarah Ann McKee1850-1921.  The first woman on the left is Josephine Carpenter Cody.  She married William Perry Cody, a brother to the other women.  Betty Blevins married another son and that is why she had the photo.  Josie Cody passed away in 1913 so the picture was made before that date.  Her parents were Eli Carpenter1857-1946 and Mila Avery 1862-1946.  All these folks lived near Denver, AR. I think I have identified all the ladies in the picture, but someone might know better than I.  Please correct me if you can.

Left to right:  Josephine Carpenter 1888-1913 married William Perry Cody; Dora Lavenia Cody 1878-1955 never married; Susan Cody 1874-1952 married William Edward Miles; Arvilla Cody 1890-1970 married Charles Avery and Ida Adeline Cody 1875-1939 never married.

I love the picture!
