ReplyDeleteMr. Carpenter was a cattle farmer. He was a member of the Blue Eye United Pentecostal Church. Fay was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during World War II.
On Sept. 6, 1939, he was united in marriage with Minnie Mae (Simkins) Carpenter who survives him of the home. He is also survived by four sons, Bobby Fay Carpenter of Green Forest, Dwanye Carpenter of Siloam Springs, Gary Carpenter of Oak Grove, and Joe Carpenter of Nashville, Ark.; two daughters, Norma Jean Brinkley of Evans, La., and Janice Head of Green Forest, and his grandson, Ronnie Carpenter of Huntsville; two sisters, Wilma Mae Simkins of Arvada, Colo., and Ruby Cowan of Green Forest; also 15 other grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Luria Carpenter; two brothers; and one sister.
This is my sister-in-law's father. There may be a connection to your group. The home place is on Hwy 331 and is still in the family.

You may not want to tell them...or break the news softly, as they are kin to Laura and I and Astrid, Ingrid and Sigrid. My Daddy worked with Fay Carpenter, also!
ReplyDeleteWow!!!! I knew there was a connection!:) It is a small world after all.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a small typo on the bottom picture labeled as "Sarah Mckee Cody with husband John McKee". Sarah's husband should be John C. Cody.
ReplyDeleteSincere thanks for the continuing hard work
Robert Thompson (great grandson of Sarah and John)
