Picturing Boaz Aday [1790 Tennessee - 1851 Taney County, MO]

I know this Boaz Aday found on the 1850 Taney County, Missouri census with his wife Martha Aday, is my husband's Great-Great Grandfather.  His son on this census, William Green Harrison Aday, is father of John Aday.  John Aday [1861-1931] is father to George Washington Aday [1916-1989].  George Washington Aday is father to George Henry Aday [1947-2017].

That is about the extent of the known facts for our Boaz Aday.  With such an unusual name, it would seem to be easy to determine if a particular record references this individual.  Unfortunately, the records have been obfuscated by the many magical family trees spread throughout the online genealogy world. A few separate individuals can be found with the name Boaz Aday in the time frame 1800 thru the early 1900. I concede that it is obvious all these Boaz Aday individuals are related, their exact relationship to each other is not known, nor can exact relationship be assumed from any extant records this researcher has found on line or otherwise.

I am going to attempt to list records and data here that I am confident I can connect to the above Boaz Aday [1790-1851].

1. Land records in Warren County, Tennessee
here is a link, if you have Ancestry.com subscription

All Tennessee, Early Land Registers, 1778-1927

I am confident the Boaz Aday is our Boaz Aday.  The records indicate that Boaz and Walter Aday of Warren Co. TN, were referencing land in Warren Co on Hickoy Creek.  This is land near Mcminnville, TN. Surely, there is a close relationship between this Boaz and Walter Aday, maybe brothers.  At one time, I thought the John Eady on there was misspelling of Aday, but have since found online that indeed a John Eady or Eddy went on north to Illinois or somewhere and is not actually a misspelling for John Aday.  Matter Aday is actually Walter Aday on the record, so that is a miss transcribed record. Conculsion: Boaz Aday has records in Warren Co. Tennessee land records dating

On Ancestry, I have found an image of Madison County, AL deed records index with a record of:
Booz Aday and Polly deed book I&J page 538 date 1825, Sec 31, 5, -W sold to Benjamin Rogers.  I have seen trees with a name of Mary for Boaz's wife. This is the only record I find that actually lists a name for Boaz's first wife. I should mention that I have found trees that list other names for Boaz's wife.  The tree where I found this land record has Boaz's wife named Mary Holcomb.

3. Census records
Giles County, Tennessee 1830 census page 189 has Boas Aidy that I am certain is our Boaz Aday.  On the same census on page 186 is a Parker or Baker Ady female age 15-20 with a male less than 5 years old and a female less than 5 years old. Page 168 has Sally Aday a female age 20-30, with a male age 1015, female age 10-15 and a female age 5-10. Page 169 has Bows Aidy, male age 15-20, female age 15-20, female 15-20, female age 10-15, and a male age 5-10.  This last record is surely Boaz Walter Aday [1812 - 1891 Crawford Co AR] with possibly a young wife and several siblings.

4. Bray Ady
I have found the name Bray Ady as a Tennessee Methodist Circuit Ridder in 1813.  I have always just took this to be a corruption for Boaz Aday.  Today, I again found a marriage record online in Madison County, Alabama marriage records that I remember seeing years ago but lost somewhere. The marriage record is
Ady, Brathein           Philips, Letity         31 Aug 1813     Madison
This throws into doubt that Bray is actually Boaz. But who else could it be? Old Boaz Aday was a Circuit Ridder according to many family stories. More questions than answers.
