Jones," which name was written by some mistake instead of her' correct name at the time of her admission, Orlena P. Jones."

In the matter of the application of Thomas Jones et al for the enrollment of himself and three children as Cherokee by blood, being duly sworn by Commissioner, Needles, he testified as follows.

Q How old are you? . . . A I am about 52 I guess.

Q Where do you live? . . . A I live out here about 6 miles in the Delaware district.

Q Are you a Cherokee? . . . A Yes sir.

Q What evidence have you got of your citizenship? . . . A I havegot it here.

Q In answer to the last question you present a certificate of admission to Cherokee citizenship, under the seal of the Cherokee Nation, granting citizenship to Thomas Jones and his nine children, William H. Jones, Artela Jones, Leroy A., John S., Hatta S. C., Betsy E., J. H., Joel, and Arvile Jones. Are you identical Thomas Jones mentioned in this certificate? . . . A Is there another one on there, I never heard you call the name of Hense.

Q What is your wife's name? . . . A Ann Jones.

There is offered in evidence a certified copy of marriage record of County of Greene, State of Missouri, showing that on the 17th day of December, 1865, Thomas Jones and Ann Hampton were united in marriage by James H. Kerr, a minister of the Gospel. This license and certificate is filed herewith.

Q Where were you living at the time you were married to Thomas Jones? . . . A We were married in Missouri. My home was in Arkansas, but the war had drove us off from there; he had been a soldier and we met in Missouri and was married in Missouri.

STATEMENT AND ORDER

Mellie Jane Blaylock is given in the testimony as Melly Jane, as being on the 1896 roll as Nilly Jane and is evidently put down in the judgment with a combination with the name of her sister, Artilla Catherine, this child being there put as Jane Artilla.

As for the next child, Artilla C. Blaylock, her name is given in the testimony as Artella Catherine, on the 1896 roll as Artillia Catherine and she is reported as referred to in the judgment simply as Catherine.

The affidavits of birth of the two younger children have been duly filed, and in explanation of the name of the child Meda Chancellor, whose name has been added in this ease since the original application July 11, 1900, there has been filed a marriage license and certificate, the former dated August 4, 1900, and the latter August 5, 1900, showing that Mellie J. Blaylock was married to one Thomas Chancellor, and this child Meda is a child of that marriage, the same having been born on the 27th of February, 1901.
