Vicki Renee Patterson Powell

 

Vicki Renee Patterson Powell, age 54 of Nashville, Arkansas, went to live with her Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, June 25, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Vicki was born May 5, 1967, in Arcata, California to James Patterson and Velma Cooper Patterson. Vicki was a Branch Office Administrator for Edward Jones. She was of the Christian Faith. Vicki was highly creative in designing and decorating. She loved to go fishing with her husband, and she dearly loved animals. Vicki was an outgoing and caring person. Vicki also loved going shopping, especially with her daughter.

Preceding Vicki in death was her Maternal grandparents, Herbert and Irene Cooper, and Johnny Fowler,

She leaves behind to share precious memories, her best friend, and the love of her life for over 33 years, her husband, Shawn Powell of Nashville.

Her parents. James and Velma Cooper Patterson of Stigler, Oklahoma.

A loving daughter, Holland and husband James Doran of Bryant, Arkansas.

One brother, Keith Patterson of Corpus Christie, Texas

Sister-in-law, Peggy Powell Friend of Nashville.

And a nephew, Aaron Sanford of Nashville.

An exceptionally large host of friends and other family too numerous to name.

Visitation for Vicki will be Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 5 to 7 pm at Nashville Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 2 pm in Keota Cemetery in Keota, Oklahoma with Tommy Brown officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the ASPCA.org/donate, or the charity of your choice.

John Collins

 John Collins has passed away.  He was Uncle Walter Renfroe’s, Larry’s Mom’s, and Aunt Joyce Grigsby’s first cousin.  Granny Renfroe and John’s mother, Martha, were sisters.  Their father was Howard Standridge of Falling Water, AR.  John was a hard worker.  When he was able, he  cleaned and took care of many family cemeteries.   He had Sissom Cemetery looking like a park.  Last time I tried to go there I couldn’t even get to it.  John was awarded the Bronze Star during the Korean Conflict.  He was a strong Christian and an example for all who knew him.  

John Collins, age 91 of Ben Hur, AR, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Shirley, AR.   The son of John Mitchell Bruce Collins and Martha (Standridge) Collins was born January 19, 1930 in Ben Hur, AR.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons; and 10 brothers and sisters.

John was a member of the Ben Hur Baptist Church.  He was a hard worker and loved the Lord with all his heart.  He enjoyed being with his family and friends who he loved dearly.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mike and Charlotte Nearn of Ashley, AR; his sisters, Blanche Holloway of Russellville, AR and Pauline Harmon and husband Clifford of Tilly, AR.; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.


Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, AR.


Funeral service will be 1:00PM, Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Ben Hur Baptist Church in Ben Hur, AR. With Rev. Glendon Garrison officiating.  Burial will follow in Harrison Cemetery in Ben Hur.


Pallbearers will be John’s nephews.

John Charles Powell


 John Charles Powell, 78, of Green Forest, died Thursday, March 3 (2016).

Celebration of Life service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest. Interment will follow at Pickens Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Alzheimer’s Association (alzfdn.org).

The son of Jesse and Una (Coxsey) Powell was born April 9, 1937, at Green Forest. He was the father of Randall Powell and Cheryl Johnson.

Obituary

Carole Ann Powell of Green Forest, Arkansas was born February 13, 1940, in Green Forest, Arkansas to Oscar Jay and Martha Lou (Steidley) Stark.  Carole passed away on May 19, 2021, at her home in Green Forest, Arkansas at the age of 81. 

Carole loved and was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Green Forest.  She also loved getting together with friends to visit and eat, cooking for anyone who knocked on the door, but her biggest passion was spending time with her kids and grandkids. Anyone who knew Carole had heard about her family.

Carole worked at many places during her lifetime as well as being a stay at home mom.  Of all her jobs outside of the home, Carole loved most her job as a sales clerk at Economy Drug in Berryville, Arkansas.

Carole is survived by her children: son, John Randall Powell and daughter-in-law, Venus, of Green Forest, Arkansas, daughter, Cheryl Dawn Johnson and son-in-law, Todd, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, three grandsons, Johnathan Lee Powell of Bella Vista, Arkansas,  Alexander Powell Johnson and granddaughter-in-law, Julianna, Matthew “Parker” Johnson and  daughter-in-law, Avery all of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and her faithful companion and little Yorkie, Taco.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Martha Stark and her husband, John.

Celebration Of Life Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 24, 2021 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Rev. Van Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Pickins Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM before the service.
