Barbara Ann (Powell) Mote, age 75, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at her Tulsa residence, surrounded by loving family members. She was born on November 5, 1939, in Green Forest, Arkansas to her parents, Jesse Powell and Una (Coxsey) Powell.
Barbara is survived by her husband, J Mote; and two daughters, Megan Bogart and husband Brad Bogart, Melanie Oliver and husband Troy Oliver; three granddaughters, Taylor Guerrero and husband Evan Guerrero, Riley Bogart, Madison Talkington; and siblings, Joe B. Powell, Frances Blanchet and John Powell.
Barbara graduated from Green Forest High School and moved to Tulsa in 1958. She was employed by F&M Bank and Trust Company. She left the work force to become a mother and homemaker. She later re-entered the work force in the oil and gas industry and retired from Transok Pipeline in 1995. She had a wide range of interests, that included her church, tennis, golf (which she detested), bridge and mahjongg. She developed many cherished friendships from being involved in those activities and never gave up a friend.
Barbara was a person of strong faith and was a very active member of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church. She served as a volunteer to the Kirk's Pathways - adults with disabilities program and held dear her Pathways friends.
Memorial services celebrating Barbara's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday February 27, 2015 at the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 4102 East 61st Street, Tulsa, OK 74136. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
